Your 6-day Morocco tour begins with a warm welcome at the Tangier port or your hotel. We depart immediately towards the Rif Mountains, enjoying the lush green scenery of northern Morocco. By early afternoon, we arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue Pearl.” You will have the rest of the day free to wander the enchanting medina. The town is a photographer’s dream, with its Spanish-style architecture, vibrant blue alleys, and relaxed atmosphere. As the sun sets, enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the valley, soaking in the peaceful mountain air.
After a delicious breakfast, we bid farewell to the blue city and head south through the rolling hills of the countryside. Our first stop is Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco. Here, you can walk among ancient mosaics, basilicas, and triumphal arches that date back to the 3rd century BC. We then continue to the imperial city of Meknes to see the massive Bab Mansour gate and the Royal Stables. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco, where you will check into your traditional Riad for the night.
Today is dedicated to exploring the oldest city in Morocco. After breakfast, a private local guide will meet you for a comprehensive tour of the Fes Medina (Fes el-Bali), a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest car-free urban zone. You will visit the Royal Palace gates with their golden doors, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the prestigious Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest operating university in the world. Your senses will come alive at the Chouara Tanneries, where leather is dyed in colorful vats using ancient methods. After navigating the winding souks filled with artisans and spices, you will have a free evening to relax or enjoy a traditional Moroccan hammam.
We leave the city behind and ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine architecture and snow-capped roofs. Nearby, we visit the Azrou Cedar Forest, home to the playful wild Barbary Macaque monkeys—perfect for a fun photo op. We then cross the High Atlas pass and descend into the spectacular Ziz Valley, a canyon filled with thousands of palm trees. By afternoon, we reach Merzouga. After a welcome mint tea, you will mount your camel for a magical sunset trek into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. The night is spent at a luxury desert camp, enjoying Berber drumming, a starry sky, and the silence of the Sahara.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, a moment of pure serenity. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we travel west towards the Todra Gorges. These towering vertical limestone cliffs rise 300 meters high and are a paradise for climbers and nature lovers; you will have time to walk along the riverbank. We continue our journey along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” passing ancient mud-brick fortresses and Berber villages. We arrive in the Dades Valley in the evening, where you will dine and sleep in a hotel nestled among the dramatic red rock formations.
On the final day of your tour, we travel to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” known for its film studios and cinema history. A short drive away lies the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site used as a backdrop for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring this historic fortress, we cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m). We will make stops for coffee and panoramic photos before descending to the vibrant red city. We arrive in Marrakech in the early evening, where we drop you off at your hotel, marking the end of your grand Moroccan adventure.
