Itinerary

Day 1:Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Riad Night)

Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Fes. We head south, ascending into the Middle Atlas Mountains towards Ifrane, a unique town known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture and snow-capped roofs. Just a short drive away lies the Azrou Cedar Forest, where we will stop to observe the playful Barbary Macaque monkeys in their natural habitat.

After a lunch break in Midelt, we continue through the spectacular Ziz Valley, a vast canyon filled with thousands of date palms and traditional mud-brick villages. As the landscape turns arid, we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. You will check into a traditional Riad on the edge of the dunes for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, resting up for the desert adventure tomorrow.

Day 2:Merzouga Discovery – Nomads – Gnawa Music – Camp Overnight

Today is fully dedicated to exploring the secrets of the Sahara. After breakfast, we board the 4×4 for an off-road adventure. We start by visiting the Khettaras, an ancient underground irrigation system used by locals for centuries. Next, we head to Khamlia Village, home to the Gnawa people, where you will enjoy a soulful performance of their traditional spiritual music.

We continue deeper into the desert to visit Berber Nomads in their tents, sharing a glass of mint tea and learning about their resilient lifestyle. In the late afternoon, the real magic begins: you will mount your camel for a trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. You will watch the sunset paint the sands in shades of orange before arriving at your Luxury Desert Camp. The night concludes with a delicious dinner and drumming around the campfire under a sky full of stars.

Day 3:Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

We recommend waking up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, we say goodbye to the desert and travel towards Rissani and Tinjdad. Our destination is the magnificent Todra Gorges, a massive trench with vertical limestone cliffs rising 300 meters high. You will have plenty of time to walk along the riverbank and admire the sheer scale of the canyon.

In the afternoon, we drive through the scenic Dades Valley, also known as the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” We will wind through the dramatic rock formations and green farm fields before checking into your hotel or Riad in the gorge. You will have a relaxing evening to enjoy the mountain air and a traditional dinner.

Day 4:Dades Valley – Ouarzazate (Studios) – High Atlas – Marrakech

On the final day of our tour, we travel through the Valley of Roses to reach Ouarzazate. Known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” this city is famous for its cinema history. We will visit the renowned Atlas Studios (optional), where blockbusters like The Mummy and Gladiator were filmed, offering a fascinating glimpse into movie magic.

From Ouarzazate, we begin our ascent of the High Atlas Mountains. We will cross the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), stopping for panoramic photos of the terraced Berber villages and dramatic peaks. We descend into the Haouz plains and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel or Riad, marking the end of your 4-day desert odyssey.
